Supporting Medicare Providers Act of 2022

The scheduled 4.48% reduction to the Medicare conversion factor (CF) in the 2023 Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule (from the current $34.61 to the scheduled $33.06 in CY 2023) could hamper the ability of physicians to provide highly specialized community-based care to our nation’s most vulnerable seniors.

Not only is the reduction to the CF reduction harmful to providers like you, but the likely long-term financial instability for physician practices caused by this and other upcoming significant cuts to Medicare reimbursement might greatly reduce access to care - especially for vulnerable populations.

This critical legislation will ensure temporary continuation of certain increases in payments for physician services under Medicare through 2023, as part of preventing scheduled Medicare conversion factor reductions from going into effect on January 1, 2023. The bill would help safeguard timely access to high-quality care and help advance health equity through supporting the ability of community-based providers to serve patients.
